Save water, save time, and grow better plants naturally with the GrowOya Clay Planter, a traditional growing method. This terracotta vessel is simple to use and effective. Simply dig a hole in your garden and bury your Oya up to its neck. Surround it with Oya-friendly plants. Fill the Oya with water and refill every few days. Easy as that. Pull it out of the ground before a freeze, clean it off, and store it in a dry place.   Oyas work best with plants that have a fibrous root system (adventitious root system) and an above ground canopy. The more creeping the roots, the better they’ll be able to grow to find the Oya. Some plants that thrive with Oyas are: tomatoes, bell peppers, chilli peppers, potatoes, cucumbers, salad greens, kale, herbs, edible flowers, gourds, melons, squashes, beans, peas, corn and more!   Oyas come in three sizes to accommodate all sizes of garden and plants. The small Oya is for patio or porch pots and planters or small growing spaces of up to two feet long and/or wide. It’s versatile, though, and can be planted in any garden space with six inches of soil or more. The medium Oya is great for planter boxes, small raised garden beds, and large containers. This is a good option for any garden looking to water up to three feet. A 6 x 3 foot raised bed is perfectly watered with two medium Oyas. The large Oya is designed for large-scale intensive growing. High output, urban farmers, community gardens, or the raised bed farming family. A big 8 x 4 foot gardening bed is ideal with two large Oyas.   The EPA estimates that as much as 50% of the water used for garden irrigation is wasted in evaporation, wind, or runoff. GrowOya saves water in three ways. First, plants self-regulate, taking only the water they need. Plants drink slowly and steadily. Second, plants are watered at the root level which results in a drastic reduction in evaporation.
